Apply for a Scholarship

In partnership with generous donors, PCCF awards thousands of dollars annually to help students achieve their educational goals. We invite high school graduating seniors and current college students to complete our new Universal Scholarship Application. This application matches an applicant’s responses with the criteria for each scholarship. You can learn about all the opportunities connected to the Universal Scholarship Application in the categorized list below. The deadline to apply is March 31, 2025.

The Tom and Georgia Bricker Scholarship, the Thomas H. and Alice J. Roberts Scholarship, and the Duneland Resale Mission Scholarship are available to PCCTE students who plan to enter college or a technical or vocational program.

The Harlan A. Siegesmund Liberty Township Alumni Scholarship is open to Chesterton High School students who are pursuing an associate’s degree or technical certificate or other vocational or technical program. This scholarship is not intended for students pursuing or enrolled in a four-year degree program.

The Philip A. Maxwell Family Agriculture Scholarship  is open to Porter County students who are pursuing a baccalaureate degree in the field of agriculture.

The Rod Moore Memorial Athletic Training Scholarship is open to Porter County students who are pursuing a pre-athletic training baccalaureate degree toward an athletic training degree at the graduate level.

The Mark and Bonnie Seaman Scholarship is awarded to students who are residents of Porter County, graduating from a high school in Porter County, and pursuing a degree in education OR going into a trade or vocational program (such as plumbing, mechanical, car maintenance, etc.) provided that the students need funds to further their education in such trade.

The Valparaiso Chain of Lakes Environmental Scholarship is open to students pursuing a baccalaureate degree in a field of study related to the environment.

The Harriet Baxter Scholarship  is open to residents of Porter County accepted to or currently enrolled in Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.

The Henry George Poncher Scholarship and the Porter County Medical Society Scholarship are open to Porter County residents enrolled in medical school.

The John and Linnea Forchetti Family Nursing Scholarship and the Mary E. Bartz Memorial Scholarship are open to students pursuing a nursing, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant degree.

The Porter County Health Occupations Scholarship and the Paula Mosser Scholarship are open to students from Porter County who are in good standing at a college, university, or technical school and enrolled in a health-related field of study.

The Hannah Grace Martinez Memorial Scholarship  is open to students interested in pursuing a baccalaureate or master’s degree in physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, special education, or working with children with special needs. 

We are grateful for the many generous donors who have established or contributed to scholarship funds—often in honor or memory of loved ones—as a way to pay it forward to the next generation of leaders.

In addition to the scholarships listed above, applications for a number of other opportunities that are supported by funds at PCCF are available directly from Porter County high schools. Students should contact their guidance offices for more information.

Additional Opportunities

Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship

Lilly Endowment Inc. has awarded scholarships providing full tuition and fees to any college or university in the state of Indiana including $900 each year for books since 1998. The continuation of the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship program is decided on an annual basis.

Applications are available in August.

Endriz-Kurtz Scholarship

This scholarship is open to applicants who graduated from Portage High School or who reside in Portage Township and graduated from any high school or successfully passed the GED. Applicants should not have attended an accredited college or university within the past year but intend to enroll in classes at Purdue University or affiliated accredited programs. 

Apply by March 31.

AAUW Scholarship

This scholarship is open to female students, age 25 and older, enrolled in an accredited post-high school institution which offers college studies, graduate studies, professional training or advanced qualification in the trades.

This award is administered by the AAUW.  To learn more, visit aauwvalparaiso.org.

4-H Scholarships

The Arthur O. Davis Horse & Pony Scholarship is open to students who have participated in the Porter County 4-H Horse & Pony Program for at least six years.

The Russell Gluth Memorial Scholarship is open to students who have participated in the Porter County 4-H Poultry Program for at least five years.

Apply by May 31.

Don Quijote Education Scholarship

This scholarship is open to Porter County high school students who are accepted to a language/cultural enrichment travel program in a Spanish-speaking country or an immersion program in the United States.
 
This scholarship application will open in August, and more information will be available at that time.
