Jenny first learned about PCCF when she attended an event as the guest of a friend who served on the board. As a recently retired educator, she was looking for new opportunities to connect with the community. At the event, Jenny learned how PCCF supports a wide variety of organizations in Porter County and decided to join in this impactful work.
In 2019, after joining the PCCF board and learning about an incredible matching opportunity that would triple the impact of unrestricted gifts to the Foundation, Jenny and her husband, Scott, chose to start the Vidimos Family Community Fund.
“I trust the Foundation to handle our fund and appreciate the flexibility it gives to support community needs,” Jenny said. “We created a legacy for our family, enabling us to show a true commitment to our community. You can’t beat the impact that the match added to boost our gift.”
Through the fund, they have been able to share the joy of philanthropy with their children and grandchildren. Jenny enjoys visiting the organizations who receive grants and seeing the passion behind the work. “My granddaughters still talk about visiting Reins of Life with me to deliver a Community Fund grant check,” Jenny shared. “They have never been around that environment, nor did they know that horses could be therapy.”
