Six local nonprofits are participating in Energize Porter County, a dollar-for-dollar matching opportunity to provide momentum to the organizations as they embark on transformational projects.

PCCF has committed $1 million to Energize PC. Eligible gifts unlock dollar-for-dollar matching funds up to each organization’s goal, helping leverage local support to complete significant capital projects.

Opening Doors to Art Accessibility Project

This project funds critical renovation of Art Barn’s main structure, addressing longstanding barriers to accessibility, safety, and program capacity. When spaces are safe and accessible, everyone benefits.

Dogwoof Park

The Chesterton Parks Foundation is seeking funding to support the development and construction of a dedicated community dog park within Dogwood Park.

Family House Relocation

Family House is seeking assistance with a needed relocation. Finding an alternative location in Valparaiso will allow Family House the opportunity to better service clients and expand to meet the growing needs of our community.

Inclusive Healthcare

Opportunity Enterprises is building a disability-inclusive health clinic that will be open to the community and offer medical and dental services through HealthLinc. OE will use the south end of the building to provide physical/occupational therapy.

Accessible classroom and carriage house: expanding to meet the needs of the community

You Can Change a Life! Your support will expand Reins of Life’s Northwest Indiana location by funding a fully accessible classroom with therapy rooms, a sensory gym, along with a dedicated equipment building for our therapeutic carriage driving program.

Creating a Regional Conservation Center

SHLT will create a Regional Conservation Center developing its headquarters and community hub for conservation, education, and engagement. SHLT preserves and restores natural lands and waters  and engages people in nature and conservation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Energize Porter County provides a dollar-for-dollar (1:1) match for gifts made to participating projects. When you make an eligible donation to a selected project through the Porter County Community Foundation (PCCF), your gift helps unlock matching funds for that project, up to its approved matching goal.

Eligible gifts must be made directly to PCCF and may come from:
– Individuals
– Businesses
– Family foundations and private foundations
– Donor Advised Funds held at commercial investment firms such as Schwab, Fidelity, or Vanguard

The following are not eligible for matching:

–  Government funding
– Distributions from funds held at PCCF or another community foundation, including community foundation Donor Advised Funds
– An organization’s own funds
– Pass-through donations
– Proceeds from ticketed fundraising events, such as galas

Yes, you are welcome to support multiple projects.

The Porter County Community Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Your gift is tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Gifts must be made between July 1, 2026, and December 31, 2027. Donations received during this period, up to each project’s goal amount, may qualify for matching funds.

Projects may continue to receive donations even after their matching goal has been reached. However, gifts received beyond the approved matching goal may not be eligible for matching funds.
