A Message from Bill

During this season of giving, your generosity can go even further. Thanks to a special Lilly Endowment initiative, every unrestricted gift to the Community Fund is helping us reach a $1.5 million goal that will unlock a powerful $3 million matching grant. With more than $1.4 million already raised, we are nearly there—and your gift today can help push us across the finish line.

Your support of the Community Fund brings hope and stability to neighbors across Porter County. Every day, local nonprofits step forward to meet needs that touch every part of community life—from education and mentoring to food assistance to health and housing. The Porter County Community Fund ensures those nonprofits have the resources they need to serve.

In 2024, one Community Fund grant provided $10,000 to the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana to support eight Mobile Markets in Porter County. At each market, families received up to 50 pounds of groceries, serving as many as 550 households at a time. Parents left with peace of mind that their children would not go to bed hungry. Seniors received fresh produce and shelf-stable food so they could focus on medication or housing costs. That grant met an urgent need for food—but it also represents what the Community Fund makes possible across countless areas of life.

Because of caring people like you, students find opportunity through educational programs, families discover stability through housing and support services, and our community grows more vibrant through local art programs. Each grant tells a different story, but together they share the same ending: neighbors helped, lives improved, and hope restored.

We invite you to consider a generous and transformative gift of $50, $100, or even $500 or more to the Community Fund. Your unrestricted gift will continue the progress toward reaching our shared $1.5 million goal—and by unlocking this $3 million matching grant, your gift will multiply to impact countless lives across Porter County.

Together, we can make sure Porter County remains a place where generosity meets every need.
