For more than a year, we have been working toward an important goal, raising $1.5 million for a matching gift challenge that will leverage an additional $3 million from Lilly Endowment for our community. The December 31 deadline is approaching, and we are almost to the finish line. This transformative grant will strengthen our Community Fund and allow us to do more good in Porter County, today and for the future.
This year alone, organizations working throughout our county are receiving more than $350,000 from the Community Fund to provide critical services. You will read about some of the ways your gifts are making a difference in our Fall Newsletter—in mailboxes now— and online over the coming weeks. Community Fund grants help provide hot, nutritious meals, ensure children in foster care have clothing and beds, and offer the support of a caring mentor to kids in school.
We are deeply grateful for all you do—the generosity of your philanthropy and the many ways you give your time and energy to support local organizations. I treasure my own experience as a volunteer lunch buddy and I especially value hearing from our faithful donors about the meaningful ways you serve as well.
Together, we are building a stronger future. Thank you for supporting PCCF and the people, places, and programs that make Porter County special.
