A Message from Bill and Jeri Pat

Philanthropic momentum is building in response to the growing needs of our local nonprofits. Your unrestricted gift to the Porter County Community Fund will continue the progress toward reaching our shared $1,500,000 goal to unlock a powerful matching gift through a Lilly Endowment initiative, Giving Indiana Funds for Tomorrow. We will earn a $3 million grant by raising $1.5 million in unrestricted gifts, and we have already received $1.25 million toward this goal.

The needs of our nonprofits in Porter County continue to grow, and as a result, we have seen a significant increase in the number of Community Fund grant applications in the last 12 months. This spring alone, we received more than 50 deserving requests. As we read the applications and vet these qualified and caring organizations, we find ourselves in a position to either partially fund or not fund some requests simply because the new needs are outpacing the funding available. Successfully growing our Community Fund endowment will help us better maintain pace with the increasing need.

Community Fund grants are vital to our local nonprofits, fulfilling critical human needs like food and clothing, providing transformational training, supporting facility renovations and technology upgrades, and helping organizations plan for the future. We research and walk alongside each organization that receives a grant to ensure resources are stewarded at the highest level. When you make a gift to the Community Fund, you can trust that your gift will impact the lives of children, families, adults, and seniors right here in Porter County. As the needs in our community increase, we are committed to helping fund those needs.

We invite you to join us by making a gift of $20, $100, $250, or even $500 or more to the Community Fund that will equip and resource our nonprofits and help us reach our goal of $1.5 million toward the two for one match. Together, we can ensure that worthy grant requests in the future will be fully funded.
